Crowdfunding: Rooster Republic Press Storefront

Rooster Republic Press is currently raising funds to open a store front!

"Rooster Republic Press has existed, in one form or another, since 2009. Almost 20 years! And, during that time, Rooster Republic Press has never had a physical storefront to call its own. In 2026, we would like to see that change. We are reaching out to the world of readers and fans of horror and the independent spirit to see if we can do just that.

Rooster Republic Press has been given an opportunity to take over the existing storefront of an established business which is located in the popular (and populous) city of Edwardsville, Illinois. This is a diverse community within the Greater St Louis metropolitan area (a major bi-state region of nearly 3 million people). Edwardsville is also home to Southern Illinois University, an increasingly popular college for students nationwide, as well as international applicants. As online outreach and capabilities dwindle in an era of highly-monetized social media, we believe physical locations will become vitally important to independent creators and businesses.

This unique opportunity being offered to Rooster Republic Press will allow us to thrive in the real world, as well as online. We believe our best strategy, going forward, will be opening up to additional revenue streams, like physical retail and collectibles. Cross-promotion with other locally-owned businesses is already being discussed. Additionally, we hope to foster a creative environment, locally, and would be keen to become a destination hotspot for writers and artists looking to promote their work. We fully intend to carry books from other, likewise, independent presses.

We are hoping to raise a minimum of $10,000.00, as this will enable us to immediately begin the buyout process, and keep us from having to take out interest-heavy loans. Because this is an existing business, operating funds are already in place, as is a team of people who want to make sure this transition is a success. The city is growing, independent bookstores are thriving, and booksellers are more important now than ever.
