heads will roll: a queer summer camp cancel culture massacre

Updated: May 8

after an actress gets herself cancelled and effectively implodes not just her career, but her personal life, she books a stay at a remote wilderness retreat to escape the onslaught of threats and harassment being hurled at her nonstop via social media. initially, the retreat seems to be the chill, restorative oasis she'd hoped for, but after a tale is told around the campfire of a local legend who haunts the grounds, people begin acting suspiciously. there seems to be a stranger prowling through the camp at night, campers are going missing one by one, and our protag starts to wonder if this place is not at all what it claims to be.

this was a good time! i wasn't overly emotionally invested in any of the characters in particular, but i didn't feel that i.. needed to be? although that's not to say that there wasn't character growth etc bc there def was, and i did feel like we got JUST enough insight into each character to be a little bit heartbroken when they got ganked - god dammit, josh. fast paced, tense, fun-but-not-over-the-top violence, satisfyingly messed up backstory, bisexual protag.

def recommend - 🦷🦷🦷🦷
