OPEN CALL: Seen

Seen: A Charity Anthology

They say that the eyes are the windows to the soul. When you look inside, what might you

find peering back?

DEADLINE:

22nd May 2026

WORDCOUNT:

3,000 – 8,000

PAYMENT:

This is a charity anthology. All proceeds will be donated to the World Blind Union, who provide guidance and aid to the blind and visually impaired community. Chosen contributors will receive a complimentary print copy (or audiobook) of the finished anthology.

WHAT THEYRE SEEKING:

We are looking for stories that centre around the word ‘vision’, however the author interprets

it. Think blind/ visually impaired main characters, a Cyclops antihero, second sight, etc. We

community, not ‘gross eye stuff’. We are also particularly interested in receiving submissions

from blind or visually impaired authors.

PLEASE DON'T SEND:

  • Stories that are not horror

  • Stories that do not somehow include the concept of ‘vision’ in the storyline

  • Erotica or splatterpunk

  • Nothing racist/sexist/homophobic/transphobic/etc. Also, no SA or CA.

  • NO AI GENERATED STORIES. If you are a blind or visually impaired author, you of

  • course should use any assistive technology you need to transcribe your story.

  • However, nobody may use AI to develop or write their storyline.
