Halloween Special:
The Dancing Griffin Press Halloween Special is open for submissions of horror stories set in October. This anthology is seeking tales across all horror styles, from extreme and body horror to YA and spooky middle grade.
SUBMISSION WINDOW:
April 1st -- July 15th
WORDCOUNT:
2,000 -- 4,000 words
PAYMENT:
$20 original stories
$15 reprints
WHAT THEY'RE LOOKING FOR:
The Dancing Griffin Press Halloween Special is looking for horror stories that capture the spirit of October. Editors are open to a wide range of tones and audiences, from extreme horror to younger reader friendly scares, as long as the story is set in October and includes a death. Reprints are accepted, provided they are a natural fit for the theme.

We ARE accepting reprints this time around, but please do not send us a previously published story where Halloween imagery was shoehorned in.

Simultaneous submissions are fine, but let us know ASAP if your story needs to be pulled for any reason.
